SIDDHAPPA NALA PROVES TO BE BOON TO FARMERS

Siddhappa Nala( Irrigation canal) is located between Siddhappa hillocks -Sagroli  and  Bolegaon ( 6 km). Inadequate  rain fall and indiscriminate use of water, rendered ground water levels fall below accessibility . Consequently, people had been facing the drought for the past  three years . Committed to Social responsibility the SSM explored every possibility to develop sustained water resources

The canal was rejuvenated  by widening & deepening measures . Farmers contributed  physical labor to certain extent. Nala is 10 feet deep 20 feet wide and 6 kms long. Doha Model of reservoirs were structured to hold water in larger bulk.. Each Doha  is capable of storing 7500 liters of water. As a result, nearly 200to300 acres of agricultural land came under irrigation and 100 farmers got benefited  through venture.
